Eamonn Holmes teased wife Ruth Langsford that she should move out of their home so that his adult children would be able to live with him again.
Hosting This Morning today while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take time off during the October half-term, Ruth and Eamonn addressed recent research that a large number of young people are living at home with their parents.
Ruth said: "Two thirds of young people, aged 20 to 34, are now back at home living with their parents - the boomerang generation, I think they call them.
"So are your adult children causing tension in your household? Are you worried about local lockdowns making things worse?"
Eamonn, who is dad to three children with first wife Gabrielle and son Jack with Ruth, interjected by saying: "I wish all of my adult children were back living with me."
"I think you say that now, until about two or three weeks in because they're very different now to when they were living with you when they were children," Ruth pointed out.
"My kids are my best friends and I love having them around," Eamonn insisted.
Ruth addressed the camera and quipped: "Hey kids, come back!"
"I want you to move out and all the kids to move back in," Eamonn cheekily told Ruth.
But she retorted: "I think that's a deal I could go with!"
