Eamonn Holmes suggests big changes are coming to This Morning

Eamonn Holmes has suggested that This Morning may be forced to undergo more changes soon.

The ITV show has continued to air during the coronavirus pandemic while other shows have had to suspend filming.

Fellow hosts Holly Willougby and Phillip Schofield explained on air last month that the show is able to continue as the government classed them as an "essential service for the time being to bring you the latest news on the virus."

They also said that they are running with a ‘skeleton staff’ from now on and all their regular behind-the-scenes services have been cut back to an "absolute minimum".

However, during Thursday's show Eamonn said that This Morning could soon be presented from home.

He made the suggestion during an interview with Joel Dommett who was discussing his new programme which he presents from the comfort of his own home.

Eamonn, 60, said: "We're looking at the future really.

"I reckon not too long from now Ruth and I will be at home presenting This Morning, that’s the way it will be.

"Everybody’s programme will be done from home. I think you’re ahead of the curve."

Eamonn made the confession during a chat with Joel Dommett (ITV)

Joel then joked: "You could be called 'Eamonn's Homes'."

Eamonn and co-host wife Ruth Langsford have recently had to explain why the pair were sat pretty close together after viewers questioned why they were not observing the two-metre social distancing measures.

"As regards to social distancing, now don't bother phoning in and asking 'why are these two together?'" Eamonn said last month.

"Because we are together, we live together. In case a lot of you don't know this, we actually do!"

Ruth then joked: "Some people think it's a fake marriage, a TV marriage.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
