Eamonn Holmes sparks concern after undergoing another procedure amid ongoing health struggles

Eamonn Holmes has sparked fresh concern after revealing he has undergone another hospital procedure.

The 65-year-old GB News presenter shared two photos on Instagram showing himself recovering from treatment — both featuring a large patch over his right eye.

In typical Holmes fashion, he added a touch of humour to his post, captioning it: “One of these eye patches was put on in hospital and the other one by me.

“See if u can guess which? P.S. U should see the other guy!!!!”

A source told the Daily Mail the operation was “not serious,” though it has kept him resting longer than expected.

“It’s one thing after another with setbacks… his back as well, and he’s got to have more surgery on his back, so he’s out of action,” they added.

The post quickly drew messages of support from fans and friends alike.

GB News colleague Tonia Buxton reacted: “Oh no!!” while Dawn Neesom wrote: “Hope going well x.”

Countdown’s Carol Vorderman added a playful response, saying: “Loving photo 2.”

While fans shared concern under the post, with one writing: “Oh Eamonn. Hope it gets better soon.”

“You need your own personal doctor! Get well soon lovely man x”, another said.

Holmes has been candid about his ongoing health struggles over the years.

The veteran broadcaster has undergone multiple surgeries since 2016, including double hip replacements and treatment for shingles.

In 2022, he underwent back surgery following three slipped discs, which left him reliant on a walking frame and, at times, a wheelchair.

In recent months, he has spoken about his frustration with immobility, admitting earlier this year: “Even when the sun shines there’s pain,’ he wrote. ‘Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility, but I’m determined to have a life…’

Earlier this year, Holmes gave a candid update on his health, revealing that his condition had worsened following a back operation that “went wrong.”

Speaking to Pamela Ballantine on ITV News, he explained: “I had a disc operation that went wrong and left me unable to walk other than 50 yards or something with a stroller device – but basically, I’m wheelchair-bound.”

Just weeks before his latest hospital visit, the presenter shared that he had suffered a frightening fall in his bathroom which left him unable to move.

“I was very worried about me,” he told GB News. “I fell on the bathroom floor and once I was down, I couldn’t get up.”

Describing the ordeal, he added: “My feet went up in the air — the floor was hard, cold, wet and slippery.”

Holmes later admitted he genuinely “thought he was dead” during the incident.
