Eamonn Holmes slammed by viewers for 'insensitive' questions during Caroline Flack debate

This Morning fans have criticised host Eamonn Holmes for making "insensitive" comments during a debate about mental health in the wake of Caroline Flack's tragic death.

Discussing the pressures of public life with psychologist Emma Kenny and expert Emma Jones, Eamonn went on to talk about "snowflakes" and how people are too easily offended.

The host derailed the conversation and said if he asked a guest why they were wearing a black dress, it would be "spun" into a "clickbait row" instead.

Viewers slammed his stance on Twitter.

@DanTheManF1 said: "There’s misjudgments, and then there’s Eamonn Holmes, somehow managing to include the word ‘snowflake’ in a discussion about journalism in the wake of Caroline Flack’s death. Just astonishing. #ThisMorning"

@szymonswiatekk said: "So disappointing to watch @thismorning having @EamonnHolmes and @RuthieeL asking so many wrong and most insensitive question during the debate about #CarolineFlack‘s death. #ThisMorning"

@carljtweets said: "Eamonn making this all about him....and blaming us for it all, look at yourself! #ThisMorning"

While @DavidMackayy said: "This isn’t so much of a tribute to Caroline, it’s more of a lecture #thismorning"

Former Love Island host Caroline, who was due back in court on March 4 after pleading not guilty to assault by beating following an alleged incident with her boyfriend Lewis Burton at her flat back in December, was found dead at her flat in East London on Saturday.

Friend Lou Teasdale had alerted the star's father of her concerns for Caroline's safety, which led to him visiting her home and discovering her body.

The devastating news was confirmed by her family in a statement.

The family statement said: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today, the 15th of February.

"We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us."
