Eamonn Holmes shares sweet message to wife Ruth as she returns to work after sisters death

Eamonn Holmes has dedicated a sweet message to wife Ruth Langsford.

She returned to work on This Morning on Monday for the first time since her sister died last month.

Ruth said that her 'heart is completely broken' after her 'lovely' sibling passed away following a long illness.

The 54-year-old stepped away from her TV commitments as she grieved with her family.

Taking to Instagram as the husband and wife duo take over from Holly Willloughby and Phillip Schofield for the summer, Eamonn posted a picture of them both on the daytime shows famous sofa.

Alongside the snap, the Irish telly star wrote: "My partner is back in business.

"Please join us for This Morning on @itv from 10.30 .... for the next 7 , yes I said SEVEN , Weeks.

"Summer is here!"

Ruth has also posted to her Instagram stories saying it was 'Good to be back' as she toured round the studio.

The presenter announced her sisters passing on Twitter and Instagram last month.

Alongside a beautiful picture of the sisters together, Ruth wrote: "My lovely Sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness. My heart is completely broken.

"She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever. As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family.

"Thank you for your understanding."

This Morning airs Monday to Friday on ITV at 10.30am.
