Eamonn Holmes shares adorable first picture of his granddaughter Emelia

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has shared an adorable picture of his new granddaughter.

Eamonn, 61, couldn't hide his pride as he shared the black and white snap of his son Declan holding his newborn daughter.

He very sweetly wrote on the post: "Just call me Papa".

He added: "My First born Son Declan with his first born and my first Grandchild Emelia. Welcome to The World Emelia."

Eamonn shared the happy news live on This Morning yesterday as he hosted alongside his wife Ruth Langsford.

At the start of the show he said "things had changed" since he was last on TV.

Ruth then said: "That you're a granddad!"

Eamonn then replied: "It wasn't just me - it was my son Declan and his wife Jenny, they are the happy couple and Jenny gave birth to Emelia."

Little Emelia was born weight 7lbs 6oz.

Proud Eamonn added: "So that's the first grandchild, my mother's a great-grandmother."

Ruth asked him: "What are you going to be? Gramps, granddad? Grumps we came up with, didn't we, but he wasn't too keen on that one."

Eamonn told her: "It surprises people because they think, 'He's too young to be a grandfather' and already I've got people getting in touch with me about glamorous granddad competitions and that kind of thing.

"But my friend Bill, he's anointed himself 'Papa'."

Ruth said she liked the nickname Papa and Eamonn agreed it would be nice to be known as that.

After he shared the first picture of little Emelia today, his fans and famous friends rushed to offer their congratulations.

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Ola Jordon commented: "Congratulations Papa"

While Kate Thornton posted: "What glorious news! Congratulations to you all x"

"Congratulations," pregnant Stacey Solomon told him.
