Eamonn Holmes says Ruth Langsford is "broken" as ITV Loose Women send condolences

Eamonn Holmes says Ruth Langsford is "broken" after the death of her sister Julia.

As Eamonn and Rylan went to the Loose Women to see what was coming up on the show, Eamonn started to tear up again.

The girls said what fans could look forward to in the show, but then sent their heartfelt condolences to Ruth.

Andrea said: "Eamonn we just wanted to say to you to send all our love to Ruth please so let her know we are thinking of her and that we love you guys."

Eamonn again looked emotional, as he said: "She's broken, guys we really appreciate it."

Rylan put a comforting hand on his co-host's arm, before they carried on with the show.

At the start of the show Eamonn broke down completely.

As the show began Eamonn said: "You may already be aware of the terrible bereavement Ruth is going through, she made this post on social media to inform everyone."

Eamonn then read out the statement, but started to cry halfway through, with Rylan stepping in.

Eamonn said: "Rylan has been a great comfort to Ruth and helped Ruth by stepping in today, Rylan was the first person I phoned when he heard the news."

Rylan said: "We love you Ruth and I couldn't not be here today."

Yesterday Ruth told her fans that she had lost her sister, who had died after suffering from a 'long illness'.

The This Morning star confirmed the sad news on Twitter by sharing a sweet photo of herself and Julia.

She said: "My lovely sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness.

"My heart is completely broken. She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever.

"As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family. Thank you for your understanding."
