Eamonn Holmes says it's 'good to be back' on This Morning - but can't resist cheeky dig

Eamonn Holmes has said that it's "good to be back" after returning to This Morning for the first time in two months.

Fans were left devastated last year when ITV announced that Ruth and Eamonn had been axed from presenting Fridays and relegated to hosting during half terms only.

But the couple were back on TV today, much to the delight of fans, and Eamonn expressed his happiness at their return.

Yet there was one thing he certainly hadn't missed.

Appearing on the ITV daytime show today, Eamonn and Ruth had been speaking to a farmer whose "show jumping sheep" was a little "frisky".

The sheep had been due to show off his skills, but the connection cut off, leaving the pair wincing.

Eamonn said: "That's an omen, I would say, for things to come!"

"Yes, possibly," Ruth said.

Eamonn added cheekily: "At least we're not playing Spin To Win!"

Ruth replied: "No, but we're doing It's Behind You and we know how well that went last time! There was nothing behind us, basically!"

Laughing, Eamonn said: "Anyway, it's good to be back!"

*This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
