Eamonn Holmes has opened up about another difficult moment in his ongoing health journey, revealing to fans that he was rushed to the hospital following a painful fall at home.
Taking to Instagram, the GB News presenter shared a photo of himself inside an ambulance, making it clear that this incident came as a shock. “An unexpected journey this morning… bit of a fall on the bathroom floor,” he wrote. “Gosh it hurts. Thank you Ambulance crew”, reported the Manchester Evening News.
Eamonn has been candid in recent years about the health battles he’s faced, particularly around his mobility. After undergoing a double hip replacement and spinal surgery, walking has become increasingly difficult, with the 64-year-old often seen using a mobility scooter or walking stick.
The outpouring of support in the comments section of his post was immediate and heartfelt. From fans to fellow media personalities, the love came flooding in. @coolcrutches wrote: “Oh no! Keeping all our fingers crossed you’re ok and back up and running asap. Masses of love.” @pashaailesi added: “Hope you recover quickly.” And @andrea.in.media shared: “Oh Eamonn, sending much love.”
Messages like “Omg bless you, wishing you a speedy recovery,” from @miss_paulalondon_ and “Hope you recover quickly. Best wishes,” by @booncarol captured the mood from many long-time supporters. One user, @lizzieanne70, simply wrote: “Wishing you well Eamonn,” summing up the public’s concern and goodwill.
This recent health scare comes just two months after Eamonn posted a brutally honest message about the physical and emotional toll of his condition. “Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life,” he said. “So pray for me, help me or get out of the way social media haters.”
It’s been a particularly tough chapter for the former This Morning host. Not only is he contending with relentless pain, but fans were also shocked last year when news broke that Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford were separating after 27 years together. The couple, who married in 2010, share a son, Jack, born in 2002. Eamonn also has three children—Declan, Rebecca, and Niall—from his previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes.
Through it all, Eamonn continues to show strength and humour, even when the odds feel stacked against him. For his fans, the message is simple: he’s down, but he’s certainly not out.
