Eamonn Holmes reveals dream presenting role after losing out on This Morning

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has revealed his surprise dream job, hosting a Homes Under The Hammer-type show.

Eamonn spoke of his love of houses and flair for furnishings while making a guest appearane on reality star Vicky Pattison's podcast.

The 61-year-old broadcaster said his wife Ruth Langsford doesn't share the same passion, but his hobby has kept him busy in lockdown.

He told Geordie Shore favourite and I'm A Celebrity winner Vicky that he fancies presenting a house renovation show.

“I should have presented that show Homes Under The Hammer," he said.

"I mean, it has my name written all over it."

He added: "I love houses. I could go round showhouses every Sunday."

Eamonn was full of praise for Vicky's home decor after seeing pictures on social media.

"I was admiring your walls and your pictures on them. Very nice. Very, very nice," he told her.

And he told her about his latest plan for his kitchen: "I just happened to suggest copper handles for brown wood.

"I'm spending lockdown just looking at handles for cupboards and things."

Avid Manchester United fan Eamonn recently showed off one of his home makeover projects on Instagram - a cinema room with a Reds theme including a plush red seating area.

"A bit of redecoration today. Can't ever have too much #United Red," he wrote with a smile emoji.

"Nice cinema room," admired one fan.

"Ooh what a lovely cinema room," said another.

"Love your cinema room! My hubby would like this if I dare show him," another follower told him.

"Love the cinema room, great for the footie!" said another.

And another follower praised: "Wow Eamonn! A home cinema?! Love red!"

Eamonn and Ruth were replaced on their Friday This Morning presenting slot in January by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Announcing the news on Twitter the couple wrote: "It's a changing of the guard on Fridays from January.

"We hope you make Alison and Dermot as welcome as you've made us over the years. Have a Ball you two!"
