Eamonn Holmes predicts Holly Willoughby will never return to This Morning after Phillip controversy

Eamonn Holmes has cast serious doubts over Holly Willoughby's future on This Morning, predicting 'she will never sit on the couch again' as the ongoing controversy surrounding Phillip Schofield rumbles on.

What started with rumours of an unlikely 'feud' between famously close friends and long standing co-hosts Holly and Phillip behind the scenes, ended with Phillip leaving his job at This Morning after 21 years, with him then hitting headlines a week later, when he released a statement admitting to having an 'unwise but not illegal' relationship with a young colleague on the ITV daytime programme.

Over the last week, Eamonn has fired criticism at both Phillip and Holly, alleging that Phillip had deceived him and wife Ruth Langsford, alleging that four senior ITV bosses knew the 'kind of man' Phillip was and accusing Holly of being 'false' and stabbing Phillip in the back.

Eamonn's opinions on Holly and Phillip came to the fore as he gave a sit down interview to his GB News colleague Dan Wotton on Monday. Eamonn again picked holes in Holly's statement about Phillip's This Morning exit, saying he found is strange she said the 'sofa wouldn't be the same without him' given that she apparently wanted Phillip gone.

And he then told Dan that he thinks Holly should follow Phillip off This Morning and predicts she will, saying: "I don't think you will ever see Holly Willoughby back on the couch. There are people that say for her it's not about what Phillip did; for her it's not about protecting the young fella involved or whatever. There are people who are financial experts who will say 'This is about brand protection with her; she's got her company and she's got advertising deals, which suspiciously looks like she's trying to distance herself from Phillip to protect those."
