Eamonn Holmes praying for other chronic pain sufferers amid own battle

Eamonn Holmes has been praying for other chronic pain sufferers amid his own battle with the condition.

The Belfast man has been sharing his health battle and sleep struggles over the past few weeks as a way of opening conversations and supporting others.

The TV presenter recently revealed the source of his pain, explaining on Loose Women that he had three slipped discs in his back which have left him using crutches.

Fans have shared how grateful they are for Eamonn raising awareness of the condition.

At 2am on Wednesday morning, the broadcaster took to Twitter and said: "May sleep fall kindly and make your eyelids heavy.

"So heavy you sleep without pain. I think of those of you suffering #ChronicPain every night. You are in my prayers and I am doing my best to raise awareness. Nite nite Tweeters."

One fan replied: "Thank you for bringing chronic pain to the forefront! It means a lot, hopefully there will be more discussions, empathy for us all."

Another said: "Oh @EamonnHolmes thank you so much. Sitting here and the pain is awful tonight. I really needed to read this kindness. You are doing so much good raising awareness of #ChronicPain. Thank you so much. Can be so lonely at times. Thank you. Don't give up!"

"I totally agree more awareness is needed - I myself do not have chronic pain but I often think how it must be for those people who have it and how difficult it must be so keep going. My friend suffered with fibromyalgia for years without getting any answers," a third added.

Eamonn is having steroid injections and hopes he will be on the mend soon.
