Eamonn Holmes praises Piers Morgan as 'saviour of breakfast TV'

Piers Morgan has been hailed as the “saviour of breakfast TV” but fellow host Eamonn Holmes fears the controversial frontman may quit his role.

However, This Morning presenter Eamonn believed ITV's Good Morning Britain had been “going down the drain of vanilla blandness” until the controversial host stepped in.

But he fears Piers could easily walk away from the high-profile job, BirminghamLive reports.

He said: “He came there and shook it up. He was the right man in the right place at the right time. And so far, so good.

"But the thing about Piers, and probably why a lot of people watch him, is you don’t know how long it’ll last, you don’t know how long he will last.

"You don’t know when he’ll have had enough or whatever.”

Piers, 55, who presents Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid, has confirmed he has agreed a contract running into 2021.

Eamonn, 60, also gave the thumbs-up to BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker.

He told journalist Rodney Edwards on the Human Nature podcast: “I’m somewhere between Dan and Piers.”
