Eamonn Holmes has announced he and Rochelle Humes will take over from Vernon Kay and Alison Hammond on This Morning after both presenters fell sick.
And the Irish host admitted he had his 'boots on and was ready to play' following the announcement that Vernon had tested positive for Covid and would be unable to present the show.
Host Eamonn, 61, has been fronting the show with wife Ruth Langsford over summer as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield took their annual six-week break.
And he told fans he was 'off the bench' as he geared up for another telly stint on Monday and Tuesday,
He wrote: "But just when u thought you'd got rid of me .... sickness with @AlisonHammond and @vernonkay means I'm off the bench .Get well soon to them but I have my Boots on and I'm ready to play . Monday and Tues line up is now myself and @RochelleHumes. Hope you can join us."
Vernon, 47, was due to appear on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on the show alongside Rochelle Humes.
Alison Hammond who was also scheduled to fill the Monday slot is also ill and no longer able to present.
It's said that ITV producers were scrambling around for a replacement but they were lucky enough to have some strong This Morning favourites in their armoury.
Vernon, who couldn't wait to guest host the popular show, admitted to The Sun he was upset at missing the opportunity.
He said: 'I'm absolutely gutted that because of a positive Covid test I'm no longer able to present on This Morning next week with Rochelle.'"
He also had to pull out of Steve Wright's Radio 2 show following his diagnosis.
