Eamonn Holmes was left "bruised, sore and a bit embarrassed" after falling off his chair live on air during a GB News broadcast—but continues to have the full support of his team.
The presenter suffered the awkward tumble yesterday while the camera was focused on commentator Charlie Rowley. A loud crash could be heard off-screen, prompting Holmes’ co-host Ellie Costello to exclaim: “Oh my gosh!”
A visibly stunned Rowley immediately moved to help Holmes, but the veteran host quickly reassured viewers, saying: “I'm fine, I'm fine. Carry on, carry on.”
Rowley attempted to continue the segment, but producers swiftly cut to an extended six-minute advert break.

Now, a source has told MailOnline that “everyone at GB News is rallying round Eamonn” following the incident.
“He’s had an horrendous couple of years, but he has the full support of the channel and all of his colleagues,” they said.
“Eamonn’s health problems have presented challenges for him and for the channel, but bosses are working on ways they can help him in any way they can.”
Holmes has faced a string of health issues in recent years. He underwent double hip replacement surgery in 2016 and had spinal surgery in 2022 to fix a long-standing back issue caused by a slipped disc.
The source added: “He was obviously a bit embarrassed about what happened the other day. He’s worked on TV for decades and nothing like that has ever happened to him before.
“It left him a bit bruised and sore but he’s on the mend now.”
The Standard has reached out to a representative of Holmes for comment.
Holmes returned to the screen after the break, joking: “I’m still alive!
“They're very wonky wheels on chairs we've got here, as a matter of fact we don't really like the chairs here.”
The incident comes just weeks after Holmes fell in his bathroom, suffering the “sorest and most powerful” knock to his head.
The former This Morning host had already revealed on Instagram that he had been hospitalised following the fall, but recalled the accident later in more details on GB News.
Holmes said he was fortunate to have his phone within reach and was able to call for an ambulance.
