Eamonn Holmes just insulted Ruth Langsford in the harshest possible way on This Morning

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are well known for bickering and making the occasional dig at each other on This Morning.

But today Eamonn went perhaps a little too far when mocking his wife’s appearance in a really harsh way.

The presenters were opening today’s episode of the ITV show by talking about Christmas turkeys when Eamonn made a pop about Ruth and her friends.

“Gobble gobble gobble,” he said.

“That just reminds me of you, Lucy, Louise and Sam on a Saturday night.”

Ruth laughed at first, asking if that’s what they sound like when they talk.

“No it’s the necks,” quipped Eamonn, gesturing with his hand under his chin. “Wobbly necks.”

Ruth was having none of it, hitting back saying it’s the “pot calling the kettle black”.

She then gave his chin a little tickle and added: “It takes one to know one, kiddo.”

As usual the pair saw the funny side and had a good giggle about it before moving on to reveal the day’s schedule.

While many viewers were likely giggling along with them, some couldn’t believe he could have been so harsh in such a public arena.

One tweeted: “As if eamonn holmes just told his wife she’s got a turkey neck on live telly…”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
