Eamonn Holmes in tears at good news after 'chronic pain' health concerns

Eamonn Holmes shared some positive personal news this morning - that had fans rushing to congratulate him about.

The This Morning host teased that he had an announcement on Twitter and then again at the start of the show, as he sat next to his co-host and wife Ruth Langsford.

At the start of This Morning he told fans 'not to cry' about the upcoming 'important and personal' announcement.

While on social media, Eamonn tweeted: "Can you keep a secret? Got something to tell you at 11 am on Wednesday's #ThisMorning.

"I hope you will be happy for me because I am over the moon. It's even ,for the moment, made me forget my #ChronicPain - yes it's that good."

In another tweet, Eamonn added: "Physio hurt this morning ...... I mean really hurt. Anyway on the plus side it certainly woke me up. See you at 10 on #ThisMorning"

Live on This Morning, Eamonn said he has been having a 'very tough week' and that he has been in 'a lot of pain' and 'in tears'.

Fans were so worried about his health that they thought maybe Eamonn's announcement would be that he was retiring to focus on getting better.

However, Eamonn quickly spun the narrative and said he has been 'in tears' again this week but for a very different reason.

Eamonn said: "Declan is my eldest boy, he's 33, and that is Jenny his beloved wife. They have just announced that I and together with Valerie and Robin, Jenny's mum and dad, and Gabrielle, Declan's mummy- we're all going to be grandparents.

"Which means I am a grandad!"

Eamonn went on to say that he got 'very emotional' about the announcement.

Fans rushed to social media to congratulate Eamonn on becoming a grandad but they were also relieved that his big reveal wasn't health related.

@imbeckyhappy said: "Phew! Thank goodness for that, was getting worried there! congrats to everyone, lovely news!"

Another twitter user @paulveness1974 said: "Eamonn so glad you're going to be a granddad.. You had me worried for the last hour.. Also Granny @RuthieeL.. Congratulations to the parents of the new arrival due in July."

@Patr1ckMcCann added: "Definitely thought @EamonnHolmes was going to announce his retirement. Love Eamonn & @RuthieeL So pleased for his family that Eamonn is going to become a grandad. Congratulations to his son."

@mollyslackxo commented: "Not very impressed with Eamonn Holmes leading everyone on to think he’s poorly or something only to then announce he’s going to be a Grandad? Badly worded lead up."

While @mariegarratt said: "Oh thank god for that because I was getting very emotional congratulations."
