Eamonn Holmes in hospital with chronic pain and asked fans to 'wish me well'

Eamonn Holmes has revealed he has ended up in hospital days after opening up to fans about suffering with chronic pain.

The This Morning star said he made the trip to find out what is causing his discomfort as the condition is leaving him in the worse pain he's 'ever experienced'.

Eamonn, 61, shared a selfie from hospital with his face covered by a mask.

Alongside the snap he wrote: "At Hospital ..... pain like I've never experienced in my life . Need to find out what's causing this."

He then asked his followers: "Wish me well."

Eamonn discussed his battle with chronic pain at the end of last week when he took to social media in the early hours of the morning to tell his followers he has been struggling to sleep due to the pain.

But it looks like it became too much for the journalist as he shared on Tuesday morning: "Starting the day by tackling the pain from the night before... On the Physio table. Chronic pain. Just can't get it to go away."

Eamonn added: "Sadly so many of you know the feeling. Thanks for sharing your stories. I'm determined to beat this... however much it hurts."

Fans rushed to offer their support and well wishes as well as share their own experience with the debilitating condition.
