Eamonn Holmes hits back at This Morning viewer over make-up comments

Eamonn Holmes was quick to respond to a This Morning viewer who had something to say over his look on Monday's This Morning.

The presenter was back on the ITV daytime show alongside Ruth Langsford for their final week hosting the summer episodes.

But as they cracked on with Tuesday's programme, Eamonn was taken aback by a viewer who accused him of having too much make-up.

Reading from his phone, the 61-year-old said live on This Morning : "Good morning Emma! [Who said], 'Eamonn Holmes looks very different this morning. Overdone it with the make-up I think.'"

Ruth began to laugh at the comment as Eamonn continued to read the message: "'He looks like he's just about to audition for a dame in panto.'"

The This Morning star then proceeded to wave at the camera, before adding: "Thanks Emma. It's just lovely to know what people think."

"A dame in panto, that's me!" Eamonn said as Ruth requested to camera crew get a close up of her husband's face.

"It's always lovely to hear from you," Ruth echoed Eamonn.

But Eamonn wasn't having any of it as hit quipped back: "You can send me a picture of yourself Emma and then we can compare."

Earlier in the programme, Eamonn got viewers commenting on social media after an awkward blunder with a guest.

During a segment on cosmetic surgery, Eamonn and Ruth spoke to Anastasiia Pokreshchuk, 32, from her home in Kiev, Ukraine.

She revealed that she has spent over £1,600 by injecting her own cheeks with hyaluronic filler.

But as Anastasiia said she was happy with her procedure as she used to look like a hamster, Eamonn misheard her and asked: "So you like to look like a hamster?"

The guest shot back: "No, I was like a hamster."

Ruth could also be heard saying 'no no' in the background before she clarified the situation: "You wanted your cheeks higher up and more defined."
