Eamonn Holmes dubs Phillip Schofield 'chief narcissist' in brutal attack

Eamonn Holmes has branded Philip Schofield a 'chief narcissist' in a bombshell interview with GB News.

The allegations come following Schofield's exit from ITV after he admitted an affair with a younger male colleague - and on the back of Eamonn hitting back at his former colleague's rant about "people with a grudge" yesterday.

Ex This Morning presenter Eamonn, who now hosts the GB News breakfast show, shed some light on the latest revelation as he opened up to Dan Wootton in an interview on the channel late on Monday evening.

Prior to the scathing interview, Eamonn took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the scandal.

He wrote: "Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hrs. I'm reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip if u r looking for a fight , u have picked on the wrong person !"

Later, he told Dan Wootton: "In this life, I have always believed that a lie challenged becomes the truth," Eamonn said.

"So although I don't want to stand up to Schofield constantly pointing out where he is lying, I feel I have to.

"Is he delusional? Does he imagine... or is he so detached from real life at This Morning that he didn't realise what was going on?

"I often say this to Ruth, maybe he believes all this stuff. But he is the chief narcissist, he is a complete and utter dyed-in-the-wool narcissist.

"Everything is about him, and last week when he issued a statement, which we the press are guilty of reporting, and accepting, where he said 'I have decided to step back'..."

Scorning, Eamonn continued: "Honestly, it makes me laugh... like heck he has."

ITV claims an investigation was launched in 2020 which looked into the rumours of a relationship between Phillip and an employee.

An ITV spokesman said on Saturday: "ITV can confirm that when rumours of a relationship between Phillip Schofield and an employee of ITV first began to circulate in early 2020 ITV investigated.

"Both parties were questioned and both categorically and repeatedly denied the rumours as did Phillip's then agency YMU.

"In addition, ITV spoke to a number of people who worked on This Morning and were not provided with and did not find, any evidence of a relationship beyond hearsay and rumour.

"Phillip’s statement yesterday reveals that he lied to people at ITV, from senior management to fellow presenters, to YMU, to the media and to others over this relationship."

It comes as Schofield posted a fresh statement on Instagram on Monday regarding the drama surrounding his shock exit.

Speaking out for the first time about the show since leaving, Schofield hit out at those 'with a grudge against me' (Instagram)

The former presenter wrote: "Now I no longer work on This Morning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it's the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

"This Morning IS the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity. You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know it, it IS a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard, working people."

Despite the drama, This Morning was aired as normal on ITV on Tuesday.
