Eamonn Holmes bites back at This Morning fan for 'boring' and 'uncontrollable' Twitter jibe

Eamonn Holmes has hit back at a This Morning fan after he was called "uncontrollable" and "boring" on Twitter.

Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford had previously hosted the show every Friday morning. They continue to host This Morning during the school holidays.

Holmes took issue with a Twitter user who was not in favour of the pair returning for good. This came after a caller tweeted that they wanted to start a petition to get the pair back in the studio full-time.

There was plenty of support online, with the tweet receiving more than 100 likes. However, one user was less than happy with it, tweeting: "god no".

The Twitter user continued: "I am uncomfortable with their bickering. He always looks so bored during fashion and other ‘lighter’ segments."

That not-so-sly dig did not go unnoticed by the Northern Irish presenter who was quick to respond. Holmes tweeted back: "Uncomfortable and boring… you sure that wasn’t one of your book reviews? We might have a lot in common."

While Holmes and Langsford haven't been regularly hosting This Morning, they've certainly been kept on their toes after the pair revealed they were going to become grandparents.

Eamonn Holmes recently appeared on Nolan Live, where he talked about becoming a grandfather for the first time. He said: "I never really thought I was ready for it but when it came along because it was so important to Declan and Jenny... you could see the joy for them."

He continued: "It really made me quite emotional and I was very ready to be grandpapa."
