Eamonn Holmes' battle with chronic pain "very difficult" says wife Ruth Langsford

Ruth Langsford has opened up about her husband Eamon Holmes’ battle with chronic pain in a recent interview, saying it has been “very difficult.”

The North Belfast native has been suffering with chronic pain in recent months as a result of three slipped discs in his back.

The pain left Eamonn using crutches to walk, but the 61-year-old has recently revealed he has been seeing some good progress after finding a treatment plan through physio and injections.

Speaking to OK! Magazine this week, Ruth was asked how her husband was doing, to which she replied that “he’s OK.”

She continued: “It’s a slow process. He’s just carrying on with his physio and putting the work into that. It’s very difficult when someone is in pain because it’s hard to help them.”

On an episode of This Morning back in April, Eamonn was seen coming back late from an ad break, slowly hobbling back onto screen with a walking stick.

Ruth said: "Now those of you who follow Eamonn on social media will know he has been talking a lot about chronic pain.

"And it's ironic now that he is not here, because he's had to nip to the loo, because it takes him so long walking and he is on his way back.

"It takes him longer to walk, but he is here now."
