Eamonn Holmes announces return to work as he shares he's feeling 'better' in health update

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has announced his return to TV as he resumes his presenter role at GB News on Monday 9 January.

Eamonn, 63, has been absent from his presenting duties after undergoing an operation on his back, and suffering an accident which occurred while he recovered from that surgery.

Eamonn has been open and honest about his struggle with a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve, amongst other health concerns. Sightings of him at a celebrity party before Christmas on crutches sparked further concern that his health was not improving.

However the former This Morning presenter is firmly back on the mend and hopes that rejoining his GB News position will help him to heal further.

Speaking on his Instagram he shared his excitement to return to presenting with his 764,000 followers. He said: "You may or may not be aware of what happened to me. I had some back surgery because I've had disc problems for a year and a half or so and the surgery affected one of my legs, which led to me falling down stairs, and breaking my shoulder.

"So I had a leg that didn't work, and a shoulder that didn't work - and lots of other things in between."

He added: "So here I am. I feel that there are only so many box sets I can watch or recommend to you!

"I'm not better, but I'm better than I was. And I've decided to make an attempt to go back to work on GB news from tomorrow (Monday). This is on the basis that work, hopefully, will help to heal me."

Continuing to speak to camera, he shared a message for others dealing with chronic pain as he shared: "As any of you who are long term sick, or who are in any way convalescing, particularly at home, will know, there's a lot of frustration involved in it. So for me, I am going to give it a go. And hopefully things will get better as a result of doing those day to day things."

Addressing his viewers and listeners directly he concluded: "Now, all I need is you to be there."
