Eamonn Brophy set for St Mirren switch as Buddies land Kilmarnock striker on pre-contract deal

St Mirren are set to agree a pre-contract arrangement to sign Scotland international Eamonn Brophy.

The Buddies have pushed the boat out to line up a move to get the Kilmarnock striker in a deal come the summer.

St Mirren have come up trumps and have financially beaten Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs and St Johnstone.

The Paisley club have come up with big-money and the offer of a three year contract after Saints boss Jim Goodwin persuaded his board to dig deep to land the 24-year-old.

Aberdeen, Hibs, St Johnstone and Hearts all made offers but all came up short of what the Buddies tabled.

Brophy could have waited to see his options, including English clubs Barnsley and Luton Town but the offer from St Mirren was just too good to turn down.

He was in Paisley on Monday night for his medical and to put pen to paper.

The striker will make the switch in the summer.

The news will be a blow to Hamilton who would have been in line for a major sell-on if he had been sold before his contract was up.
