Eamonn Brophy leaves St Mirren as striker joins Ross County for six-figure fee

Eamonn Brophy's disappointing St Mirren spell has ended after the striker joined Ross County.

The forward's arrival in Paisley back in January 2021 was seen as something of a coup, with the one-time Scotland international aiming to kickstart his career after finding himself out of favour at Kilmarnock.

Having made the move permanent that summer, he went on to make 36 appearances in all competitions in his first full season in the stripes - notching eight goals.

Injuries curtailed his progress, with the forward only making 14 appearances last season - many of which were from the bench - under Stephen Robinson before he made a loan switch to the Staggies in the winter transfer window.

Now the striker, who incredibly never scored at the SMiSA Stadium throughout his two-and-a-half year spell with the club, has made his move to Dingwall permanent - with St Mirren receiving a six-figure sum for the 27-year-old.

A Saints spokesperson said: "We thank Eamonn for his service to the club and wish him the best in his future career."
