Eamonn and Ruth stunned as This Morning caller swears after technical glitch ruins prize chances

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were left stunned today after a caller swore live on This Morning after a technical glitch ruined their chances to win a lot of money.

Melinda from Redditch called in to take part in the ITV daytime show's game It's Behind You, but it didn't get off to the best start.

Her call began to break off as she said she was here but on Skype.

She tried to tell a confused Ruth: "I've connected with you on Skype... hello?!"

Ruth explained that they couldn't see her because all their monitors were turned off but asked whether Melinda could hear them.

They then began the countdown but Melinda said: "I can hear you but there's a delay!"

Ruth said that they understood but probed her on what she could see. A few seconds passed and she managed to describe a rollercoaster.

It then took another 10 seconds until she could see the next picture of Love Island winners Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea.

"I can't see the next picture yet, I'm sorry!" Melinda said.

After another few agonizing pictures, Ruth revealed that they would be giving her some extra time.

Melinda thanked Ruth and successfully described Will.i.am, a stick of rock and a seagull.

In the end, Melinda won £300 despite the delay.

Melinda was ecstatic, but Eamonn suggested that she buy herself a telephone.

She responded: "It's the Internet - it's c**p!"

Eamonn and Ruth laughed as they said goodbye to Melinda.
