Last week’s success at Pebble Beach has some golf fans wondering if it’s time America borrowed another idea from the old world and formalized its own course rota list.

It’s easier to have a rota for the British Open. There are a limited number of those ancient links that can accommodate the championship. And it helps when there aren’t two majors competing for the affections of venues like we have in America.
