Eamon Dunphy reveals drug dealer he bought cocaine from died from the drug

Eamon Dunphy has revealed a woman he bought cocaine from died after taking "her own stuff".

The football pundit recently spoke out about how Gerry Ryan's death made him quit the drug for good.

Speaking on his podcast The Stand earlier this month, Dunphy said: “Gerry’s death, I think was a wake-up call for me and many other people that this so-called party drug was extremely dangerous.

“So I had my own sort of conscience to reflect on long before Gerry died but I made a vow at that time never to take it again.”

Dunphy started taking the drug in his 40s and continued to do so as a recreational user despite knowing of the dangers.

He told The Sunday World: "I suppose it presented itself to me in the same way, as it is in every pub and club and restaurant now. And I would buy it - from the dealers.

"One dealer I bought it from died because she took her own stuff and what was in it was rotten."
