A man who died after being stabbed at a West London pub has been named as Wayne Phillips.

Mr Phillips, 58, from West Hampstead, was killed at the Star and Scorpion pub on Uxbridge Road in Ealing on Saturday July 23.

Emergency services were called to the establishment just before midnight, and Phillips was found in a critical condition.

Despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to have been blood loss and stab wound to the heart.

A 58-year-old man remains in custody charged with murder.

One Facebook user wrote: “Members of The Ladbroke Grove community are in shock.. Shacks the Gentle Giant of Ladbroke Grove was well liked, polite, cool and laidback.”

Another posted a video of Phillips singing at a large gathering under the caption: “Big Shacks Wayne Phillips this one is for the icon that you are. RIP my friend... you will be missed.”
