Eagles’ waive S Blake Countess; sign DT Aziz Shittu

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a roster move, waiving injured safety Blake Countess, and signing defensive tackle Aziz Shittu.

According to Zach Berman of The Athletic, Countess was expected to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring.

With Rodney McLeod looking recovered from his torn ACL, the Eagles safety depth is starting to look better, especially since Andrew Sendejo has been solid. The move could also ensure Johnathan Cyprien a roster spot. Shittu returns to the Eagles after two stints on the Cowboys practice squad.
