Eagles vs. Jets injury update: Sam Darnold ruled out of Week 5 matchup

The news was expected, but now it’s official. New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold has been ruled out of the team’s week five game against the Eagles.

Not surprisingly, the #Jets have ruled QB Sam Darnold out for this week’s game. He got a lot of reps in practice, but the spleen did not do what Darnold wanted it to do. So, he waits.

Darnold participated in practice this week and took first-team reps, but was listed as limited. He missed the team’s Week 3 loss to the New England Patriots due to mono, while Jets had a bye in week 4.
