Eagles release LB Zach Brown

The Philadelphia Eagles are releasing linebacker Zach Brown according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Eagles confirmed the move moments ago.

It’s unknown at this time whether Brown’s trash talk towards Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins played a part in his release.

Brown called his former teammate Cousins, “the weakest part” of the Minnesota Vikings’ offense. Cousins was far from weak in the Vikings 38-20 dismantling of the Eagles. The Viking’s signal-caller passed for over 300 yards and four touchdowns, three to Stefon Diggs.

Brown had amassed 29 tackles in six starts with the Eagles as a reserve linebacker filling in for Kamu Grugier-Hill. He was recently praised by Pro Football Focus for grading out as one of the top run stuffers in all of football. Now Brown will hit the open market, where there should be plenty of suitors for his thumping style of play.
