Eagles to hire Colts OC Nick Sirianni as their head coach

In a move that can only be described as shocking and positive for quarterback Carson Wentz, Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles are in the process of hiring Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni to the head coaching position.

Sirianni, 39, was originally hired by Frank Reich in 2018 to call plays for the Colts’ offense after two years as the Chargers’ quarterbacks coach, where he worked alongside Reich.

Sirianni played a huge role in reconfiguring the team’s offense after Andrew Luck’s shocking retirement before the 2019 season and did a good job in 2020 despite Philip Rivers’ struggles.

Sirianni was one of the final interviews that included Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady, assistant coach Duce Staley, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Jets new head coach Robert Saleh, Falcons new head coach Arthur Smith and Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, among others.

Sirianni will now be pressed with deciding between Carson Wentz or Jalen Hurts and if he did sign off on retaining the Eagles disgruntled franchise star, fixing his downward spiral.
