Eagles’ snap count vs. the Jets: Breakdown, analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles moved their record to 3-2 on the season, after an impressive home win over the winless New York Jets on Sunday. It was a total team effort and the Eagles’ best overall performance of the season thus far.

With the Eagles starting preparation for Minnesota as they venture out on a three-game road trip, here’s the snap count for the Birds win over the Jets.

Quarterback: Carson Wentz 63 snaps, Josh McCown snaps

Wentz went 17 of 29 for 189 yards and one touchdown. He was steady once again in leading the Eagles offense and for the second straight week, he didn’t turn the ball over and dominated on third down. Josh McCown got snaps in garbage time.

Running Back: Jordan Howard 29 snaps, Miles Sanders 29 snaps, Darren Sproles 10

The Eagles emphasized the running game again, with Sanders and Howard splitting the snaps down the middle. Howard is the most productive running back at this point and should see his volume of carries increase moving forward.

Wide receivers: Alshon Jeffery 63 snaps, Nelson Agholor 61 snaps, Mack Hollins 31 snaps, JJ Arcega-Whiteside 2 snaps

Jeffery was the most productive out of the group and thankfully the receiving corps wasn’t needed.

Offensive Line: Isaac Seumalo 66 snaps, Jason Kelce 68 snaps, Brandon Brooks 68 snaps, Lane Johnson 68 snaps, Jason Peters 68 snaps, Halapoulivaati Vaitai 8 snaps, Andre Dillard 6 snaps

The Philadelphia Eagles were dominant up-front on Sunday and finished the ballgame pretty healthy.

Tight End: Zach Ertz 58 snaps, Dallas Goedert 50 snaps, Alex Ellis 3 snaps

The Eagles went into this game with only two tight ends after they waived/injured Alex Ellis. Ertz scored his first touchdown of the season.

Defensive line: Fletcher Cox 46 snaps, Derek Barnett 43 snaps, Brandon Graham 41 snaps, Hassan Ridgeway 41 snaps, Akeem Spence 20 snaps, Josh Sweat 19 snaps, Vinny Curry 18 snaps, Daeshon Hall 7 snaps

Hassan Ridgeway was active at defensive tackle registering a sack, while the entire front was dominant, sacking Jets signal-callers 10-times. Josh Sweat continues to produce as an inside pass rusher.

Linebacker: Nigel Bradham 55 snaps, Zach Brown 31 snaps, Nate Gerry 22 snaps, Kamu Grugier-Hill 20 snaps, T.J. Edwards 2 snaps

Bradham was steady in the middle, Brown has turned into the ultimate thumper and Nate Gerry was money on the spot, taking a Luke Falk interception back for a touchdown.

Defensive Back: Malcolm Jenkins 59 snaps, Rodney McLeod 58 snaps, Rasul Douglas 58 snaps, Avonte Craig James 57 snaps, Orlando Scandrick 35 snaps, Andrew Sendejo 17

James, the practice squad call up, logged a ton of snaps at cornerback and performed well. McLeod secured his first interception of the season, while Rasul Douglas was his normal self.
