Eagles snap count vs. Ravens: breakdown, analysis and JJ Arcega-Whiteside’s coming out party

The Philadelphia Eagles showed some good things in their 25-16 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Josh McCown shook off a slow start to secure the backup quarterback job, while JJ Arcega-Whiteside had his coming out party, gaining over 100 yard receiving and scoring one impressive back corner touchdown.

The snap count for last nights game has been released and quite a few Eagles locked up more playing time than expected.

Analysis:
McCown logged 45 snaps just days after leaving his job as an ESPN analyst and almost imploded with three straight incompletions to start the contest. McCown would eventually settle down and have one hell of a debut, completing 17 of 24 passes, for 172 yards and one touchdown. Corey Clement logged the most snaps at running back with 37 and firmly secured his spot on the roster. Josh Adams had 24 snaps. JJ Arcega-Whiteside led all wideouts with 44 snaps and had a 100 yard game in the process. Greg Ward and Mack Hollins both logged 43 snaps.

Jordan Mailata played the whole game once again, followed by Andre Dillard who logged 44 snaps. Matt Pryor, Nate Herbig, and Stefen Wisniewski all logged 39 snaps.
