Eagles re-sign K Jake Elliott, LS Rick Lovato to 1-year deals

Two Philadelphia Eagles special teams stalwarts are coming back on one-year deals. The Eagles announced the re-signings of kicker Jake Elliott and long snapper Rick Lovato on Friday. Both players were exclusive-rights free agents, meaning they could negotiate only with the Eagles.

Elliott, signed off Cincinnati’s practice squad in 2017, has become a fan favorite and owns several team records, including the longest field goal in team history, a 61-yard game-winner against the New York Giants. In his first season with the Eagles, Elliott connected on 26 of 31 field goal attempts (84 percent) as a rookie and finished the season with 117 points. Last season, Elliott was again 26-of-31.

Signed by the Eagles in 2016, Lovato has been the long snapper in 37 regular-season and postseason games over the last two seasons.
