In a move that has been expected for some time now, the Philadelphia Eagles have re-signed left tackle Jason Peters and are expected to play him at right guard per Ian Rapoport.
Brian Baldinger is a former Eagles player and currently works as an analyst for the team during the preseason and for NFL Network during the regular season.
Baldinger sent social media into a buzz when he revealed that a little birdy passed along the news that the Eagles could be prepared to make a move this week that could greatly “improve the roster.”
The free-agent left tackle let it be known last season that he would play guard to extend his career and he’s still one of the most athletic players in the game regardless of position. Peters’s strength, technique, and versatility along with vast experience could allow such a move to make sense.
By adding the athletic and talented Peters at right guard, it allows Andre Dillard to continue to develop, while Matt Pryor can continue to play a hybrid role or move to right guard if Peters can’t successfully make the move.
