Eagles sign former college QB Tyree Jackson to futures contract as a TE

Looking to follow the blueprint of the Washington Football Team and other franchises around the league, the Eagles have signed former University of Buffalo star quarterback, Tyree Jackson, to a reserve/futures contract.

Jackson signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jackson was subsequently waived and later signed with DC Defenders of the XFL.

A 6’7”, 249-pound athlete, Jackson is now trying to land with an NFL team as a converted tight end and he recently worked out for the Eagles.

Jackson starred at Buffalo, where he threw for 3,131 yards and 28 touchdowns with 12 interceptions in his final season.

Logan Thomas played quarterback at Virginia Tech and eventually switched to tight end in the NFL, where he finally had his breakout season, logging 72 catches for 670 yards and six touchdowns.

Thomas also caught a touchdown pass against the Eagles in Sunday’s season finale.
