Eagles’ RT Lane Johnson preparing to host another offensive line summit

With Von Miller and some of the other top defensive linemen and outside linebackers getting together for a pash rush summit last week, offensive linemen across the NFL were shaking in their boots at the opposition getting the upper hand. Philadelphia Eagles star right tackle, Lane Johnson is hoping to combat such fear, and once again, the big fella and his former college offensive line coach Duke Manyweather will convene together for an offensive line summit of their own.

Title the Offensive Line Masterminds Conference, Johson and a host of fellow NFL and collegiate offensive linemen will come together to help combat the onslaught of pass rush phenomenons in the NFL.

Johnson told Les Bowen of the Inquirer.com, that guys really don’t know the true nuances of playing offensive line.

“I feel like there’s not a whole lot of education on how the o-line is played,” Johnson said. “Really, I just want to get the guys together and kind of get a voice behind the o-line position, because I feel like there’s never been one. It’s just always been, ‘Bring your lunch pail and keep your mouth shut.’ ”

This will be the second year for the conference, with Lane bringing together veterans and younger NFL offensive linemen to get together and discuss their craft.
