Eagles rookie QB Jalen Hurts shines in 24-21 upset win over the Saints

Jalen Hurts definitely provided a spark for the Philadelphia Eagles and proved that he belongs in the NFL as a quarterback as the Eagles moved to 4-8-1 on the season.

What Hurts’ debut means for the future of Carson Wentz remains to be seen, but for now, the Eagles feel more than comfortable giving the rookie a second-straight start against the Arizona Cardinals on the road in Week 15.

Hurts and Miles Sanders both rushed for over 100-yards on the day and he was solid as a passer, going 17 of 30, for 167 yards and 1 touchdown, while leading Philadelphia to a 24-14 upset over the New Orleans Saints.

Hurts finished with a QBR of 83.6 and up until a late fourth-quarter fumble, Hurts was able to avoid the costly turnovers that have plagued the Eagles through the 2020 season.

Hurts tossed the second touchdown pass of his career when he hit Alshon Jeffery for a 15-yard back-shoulder fade early on in the ball-game.

Hurts was able to keep several drives alive with his legs and he made the correct choice in throwing the ball away when he had nothing downfield.
