Eagles restructuring the contract of RG Brandon Brooks

The Eagles are making some moves to clear salary-cap space ahead of the new year and the organization will carry some $24 million over from 2020.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Philadelphia is restructuring the contract of star right guard, Brandon Brooks.

Cap Number: $14,554,235

Cap saving with restructure: $7,068,750

Cap Saving with extension: $7,540,000

Brooks is still an All-Pro caliber guard when healthy and had the Eagles advance into the playoffs, he may have tried to return early from an Achilles tear suffered last summer.

Brooks will be 32 this season and his current deal doesn’t expire until 2025.

Philadelphia already has impending releases scheduled for wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and defensive tackle Malik Jackson, while already restructuring the deals of Javon Hargrave, Isaac Seumalo, Jason Kelce, and Darius Slay among others.
