Eagles request to interview Titans OC Arthur Smith for head coaching job

The Philadelphia Eagles have requested permission to interview Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith for their vacant head coaching position.

The Titans lost 20-13 to the Ravens in the AFC wild-card game on Sunday afternoon, making Smith available for interviews.

The Titans ranked fourth in scoring (30.7 ppg), second in total offense (396.4 ypg), and second in rushing (168.1 ypg) this season.

Derrick Henry rushed for 2,027 yards, the fifth-most in NFL history.

An even more impressive accomplishment on Smith’s resume centers around the resurrection of quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

The former Dolphins first-round pick regressed badly under Adam Gase, but with Smith in Tennessee, Tannehill earned NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2019 and passed for the third-most yards in franchise history this season.
