Eagles release CB Jay Liggins; Make Brett Toth signing official

The Philadelphia Eagles have made the Brett Toth signing official, as the team announced that they’ve agreed to terms with the former West Point grad. To make room for Toth, the Birds waived talented cornerback Jay Liggins.

A two-year starter for the Black Knights at right tackle, Toth helped anchor the nation’s top rushing offense in 2017. Liggins, deemed by Sports Illustrated as the “NFL Draft’s Most Unlikely Sleeper,” was signed as a UDFA from NAIA program Dickinson State. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Liggins was ranked as the No. 71 cornerback by The Athletic’s Dane Brugler.
