PHILADELPHIA _ Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Josh Huff was stopped on the Walt Whitman Bridge on Tuesday morning after he was caught allegedly speeding.
Huff was reportedly arrested after he was found in possession of marijuana and a gun, sources told CBS3. The TV news station said it's not known if Huff has a permit to carry a gun.
Huff, 25, was stopped on the New Jersey side of the bridge.
No further details were immediately available.
The Eagles, in a statement, said: "We are aware of the incident today involving Josh Huff. At this point, we are gathering more information."
Huff, a native of Houston, Texas, was a third-round draft pick of the Eagles in 2014. Before the Birds, he played college football at the University of Oregon, where he was one of the most productive receivers, the Eagles' website says. He finished his career at Oregon tied for first all-time with 24 touchdowns, seventh in receiving yards (2,366) and eighth in receptions (144).
In 2014, while playing for the Eagles, he "burst onto the scene as a special teams standout for the Birds during his rookie campaign, setting a franchise record with his 107-yard kickoff return for a score" against Tennessee, the Eagles site says.
His bio on the Eagles site says he and his wife have a son.
