Eagles RB Miles Sanders among 25 NFL rookies poised to have successful 1st season

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Miles Sanders with the hopes that he could provide some dynamic playmaking ability to the offense, but as the season inches closer, the expectations rise for the former Nittany Lions star. Sanders has already been mentioned in fantasy football circles as a player to watch, he’s widely considered a rookie of the year candidate and now according to NFL.com’s Dan Parr, Sanders is among the top 25 rookies in the league, poised for successful first seasons.

18) Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: It is a crowded backfield in Philly, with Jordan Howard, Corey Clement, Josh Adams, and Wendell Smallwood vying for snaps. So, what is Sanders doing on this list? Well, he’s the most complete back of the bunch, which should lead to plenty of playing time, and he’ll have one of the league’s best O-lines creating lanes for him. I like the potential here.

If Sanders can pick up the Eagles scheme, excel in picking up the blitz and show an ability to run between the tackles and flourish in the passing game, he could be the Eagles main guy by week 10. It’ll be interesting to see if the Eagles slowly implement Sanders into the offense, or replicate the Giants usage rate for Saquon Barkley, and let the young kid flourish from the beginning.

With Jordan Howard on the roster, the Eagles control the pace of play for the rookie.
