Eagles’ QB coach on the growth he’s seen from all 4 signal-callers

Philadelphia Eagles assistant coach Press Taylor is one up and coming offensive innovators in the NFL and a guy who’ll certainly have his own franchise in the next few years. For now, the brother of Bengals head coach, Zac Taylor, Press is the guy who works closest with Eagles franchise quarterback Carson Wentz. The 31-year-old Taylor joined the Eagles as a quality control coach under Chip Kelly in 2013 and has remained ever since, getting elevated to quarterbacks coach last season, succeeding John DeFilippo.

The pressure on Carson Wentz has intensified after signing a four-year, $128 million contract extension with the most guaranteed money in NFL history, and for the man, Taylor has referred to as a “grinder”, it’ll be imperative for the Eagles quarterback coach to ensure Wentz’s continued maturation. while speaking with Dave Spadaro of the Eagles official website, the Birds quarterbacks coach highlighted the growth he’s seen in the signal-callers during offseason workouts, OTAs and minicamp.

“It’s a good group,” Taylor said. “I’m very pleased so far. We’ve all worked hard to learn the offense and get some timing down, and I think it’s worked out well.”

For Taylor and the Eagles, the biggest change from last season is a completely healthy and locked in Carson Wentz, who has looked great all offseason and should take momentum into the start of training camp. Nate Sudfeld is making all the throws and looks like a legitimate No. 2 quarterback at this juncture, which is a vital assessment, given Wentz’ injury history.
