Eagles QB Carson Wentz ‘ecstatic’ about having the ‘bodyguard’ Jason Peters back at LT

The Philadelphia Eagles have a franchise quarterback in Carson Wentz and a huge part of his success hinges on him remaining healthy and having the appropriate time to throw.  Wentz nearly suffered an injury two weeks ago when Joe Ostman bull-rushed Andre Dillard just days before he suffered his season-ending biceps injury.

After watching Matt Pryor struggle at left tackle last week the Eagles were unsure about how to proceed with Wentz’s blindside.

That confusion ended on Monday when Peters walked into Doug Pederson’s office and requested to play left tackle without reworking his contract. For Carson Wentz, that means everything and he didn’t hide his excitement when asked about Peter’s return.

Wentz went on to say that Peters “has the track record” of success at left tackle and because of that, he knows his blindside is in the right hands. The Eagles still need to sort out the right guard situation and depth along the offensive line, but for now, Wentz’s blindside has the best protection money can buy.
