Eagles players confirm Carson Wentz bulked up to 250-pounds after putting on ‘dad bod’ weight

During the 2019 NFL offseason, Carson Wentz changed his diet and leaned out some in hopes of avoiding injury.

After completing a whole regular season, Wentz was knocked out of his playoff loss, a 17-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. During a pandemic filled 2020 offseason, Wentz became a dad and hit the weight room.

Eagles players noticed and during a Sunday zoom interview, Lane Johnson confirmed that Wentz gained weight, going from 237 pounds to 250 pounds. Johnson and center Jason Kelce both jokingly referred to it as “dad bod.”

Upon returning for training camp, Wentz confirmed that he “was really able to get after it and work out a little harder in the gym,” and the added strength should help him stay healthy during a pandemic filled regular season.
