Eagles miss out on Jalen Ramsey as Jaguars trade star CB to the Rams for two 1st-round picks

The Jalen Ramsey saga is over, and for the Philadelphia Eagles, it’ll be questions of what could have been, after Adam Schefter just reported that the Jaguars are trading Ramsey to the LA Rams for two first-round picks and another mid-round selection.

Jacksonville will acquire two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021 Schefter reported. While LA gets the best cornerback in football in according to some, and a guy that they’ll certainly sign to a huge extension.

Fans can’t fault Howie Roseman for not trying, as it was reported by ESPN NFL insider Chris Mortensen that the Eagles were in constant contact with jaguars officials.

“Shad Khan expected Jalen Ramsey to play after a heart-to-heart meeting last week, and he did not play. But Shad Khan finally, I think, cracked open the door, saying, ‘Hey, we’ve got to do what’s best for the team and the individual.’ I say stay alert on this and certainly the Philadelphia Eagles are calling the Jaguars every week to check on this one.”

It was previously reported that the Jaguars turned down two first rounds picks from a mystery team. Now the Eagles will have to deal with Ramsey for years to come.

The Rams traded Marcus Peters to the Ravens earlier in the day on Tuesday, so everything makes sense now.
