Eagles looking to develop Jalen Hurts into a future tradable asset, compensatory pick

The Philadelphia Eagles took a quarterback late in the second round of the NFL Draft, but fans of Carson Wentz shouldn’t worry about competition.

The concern for some Eagles fans and analysts centered around Hurts being used as a gimmick quarterback or in a role similar to the way the New Orleans Saints use Taysom Hill.

When addressing the pick with Jeff Skversky, GM Howie Roseman reiterated that the Eagles are in the business of drafting and developing quarterbacks.

Roseman went into a further explanation on the pick referring Hurts as a quality teammate and person with high character that can only enhance the Eagles locker room.

Roseman and Pederson have both previously harped on the Eagles goal of drafting a quarterback every season for development purposes.

If the Eagles can turn Hurts into a future first or second-round pick, Roseman will be vindicated for his move.
